1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They’re widely used to make sites work, remember preferences, or measure how a product is used. Similar storage technologies, including localStorage and session storage, are covered by this policy too.
2. The cookies we use
Inside the Spotlight workspace we use a deliberately small set of cookies. Most fall into the "strictly necessary" bucket: they keep you signed in and protect requests against forgery. The workspace itself sets no third-party advertising cookies. Our public marketing and landing pages are different — they use Meta advertising tools, as described in section 3 below.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-access-tokensb-refresh-token | Authentication. Keeps you signed in to your Spotlight workspace. | Strictly necessary | Session / 7 days |
spotlight_acting_as | Remembers which client workspace an agency operator is currently viewing. | Functional | Session |
spotlight_theme | Stores your light / dark / system theme preference. | Functional | 1 year |
spotlight_sidebar | Remembers whether the workspace sidebar is collapsed. | Functional | 1 year |
3. Advertising measurement (Meta)
We advertise Spotlight and our services on Meta platforms. Our public marketing and landing pages use the Meta Pixel, and our servers send lead and booking events to the Meta Conversions API so we can measure whether our advertising works. For leads that arrive from an ad, this can involve processing Meta identifiers (such as fbclid, _fbp and _fbc) alongside the contact details you submit. Meta describes how it uses this data in its Privacy Policy, and you can manage ad preferences in your Meta account settings. These tools do not run inside the signed-in Spotlight workspace.
4. Other third parties
Beyond the above, the Spotlight app doesn’t embed third-party widgets that set cookies. Embedded fonts are served from Google Fonts; Google describes the data it processes for that service in its Privacy Policy.
5. Analytics
Spotlight records aggregated, in-product usage events (e.g. "pitch sent") for product-improvement purposes. These are stored in our own database, not handed to an advertising network.
6. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser’s settings. Most browsers let you allow or refuse cookies on a site-by-site basis. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will sign you out of Spotlight and may break login.
7. Changes
If we add a new cookie or change the purpose of an existing one, we’ll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be flagged in-product.
